KOTO, is preparing for the production of biomethane. Currently, we produce biogas from biodegradable waste in our own biogas plant, which is then used to produce green electricity and heat. Our next step is to upgrade the biogas production process all the way up to the biomethane production stage. Thus, KOTO will become one of the first producers of biomethane in Slovenia.<\/p>\n

As a partner in the project, we invited Energetika Ljubljana, which will take care for proper supply to the distribution network. Together with Energetika Ljubljana, we will be able to offer locally produced biomethane to the end users in Slovenia.<\/p>\n

With the optimisation of processes, the introduction of state-of-the-art technologies and the pursuit of agile business models, KOTO constantly strives for innovative solutions with high added value, which contribute significantly to the economy. One of the latter is the production of\u00a0biomethane<\/strong>. We already produce biogas from biodegradable waste in our own biogas plant which is used to produce green electricity and heat. We are now planning to upgrade the biogas production process, using the same amount of a processed waste \u2013 up to the biomethane production stage. Thus, KOTO will become one of the first producers of biomethane in Slovenia.<\/p>\n

We are pleased to announce that we have decided to\u00a0cooperate with the company Energetika Ljubljan<\/strong>a in this field. In the course of this cooperation, we intend to transfer the produced biomethane to their natural gas distribution system. Biomethane is stored in the natural gas network before consumption. Together with Energetika Ljubljana, if the project is successfully implemented, we shall enable the locally produced biomethane to be used for charging trucks and automobiles at public charging stations. The completion of the project is scheduled for 2024. At KOTO, we also intend to gradually replace our vehicle fleet with compressed methane powered trucks, which we intend to charge within Energetika Ljubljana\u2019s network of charging stations.
\nThe production of biomethane and the plan to cooperate with Energetika Ljubljana represent an important step towards a greener and clean future. We are committed to this goal, as evidenced by our motto FOR A CLEAN AND SAFE FUTURE.<\/p>\n
